This Means War! is the ninth studio album from Christian rock band Petra. It was released in 1987 by Star Song Records. It is the last album to feature bassist Mark Kelly.

Album history[]

Petra entered the studio after finishing their Back to the Street Tour in December 1986. This Means War! was recorded and mixed at Pakaderm Studio in Los Alamitos, California by brothers John and Dino Elefante. Mastering was done at Future Disc Systems by Steve Hall.

Reception[]

This Means War! was the fourth Petra album to be nominated for a Grammy Award. It was nominated in the category of Best Performance by a Gospel Duo, Group, Choir or Chorus.
